Standing Water on Sound is Art

I’m psyched to see some of my work up on one of my favorite sites, Margaret Noble’s Sound Is Art. Margaret posts a new sound about twice a week, and they’re always great. I’ve discovered a lot of composers and sound artists through her site. The clip she posted in the above link is an excerpt from my recent work for contrabass & tape, Standing Water: A Soundmap of the Gowanus Canal.

Thanks Margaret!

    Hello Aleksei!
I am also an artist on Sound is Art and I heard your latest submission ‘Moving Parts’. I have a radio show at The School of the Art Institute called RENDER. It concentrates on sound art, experimental music, computer music and processing and field recordings. I was wondering if I could play it ‘Moving Parts’ on my show. I think my listeners would enjoy it and your process of making it.
    Let me know!
